Get Well Place

FAQs

  • When are you open?

    • This varies by location. Most Get Well Places are open 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. from Monday through Friday. However, others have alternative schedules. Please call your local Get Well Place to learn their hours.

  • How can I reserve a space for my ill child?

    • Daily reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to students enrolled at LeafSpring School. Reservations may be made in advance by contacting the Get Well Place at your local school. If you contact them after hours, please leave a message (or send a text, depending on your location) and our nurse will speak with you in the morning. Please do not show up without first speaking to an administrator or nurse to confirm that your child has a reservation.

  • Is my child eligible to come to the Get Well Place?

    • All children from birth to 13 years are eligible to reserve space at the Get Well Place. At most locations, children do not need to be enrolled at LeafSpring School to use the Get Well Place. Please contact your local school to check on their services and availability.

  • What type of information do you require before I drop my child off?

    • An immunization record signed by your child’s pediatrician is required for admission, in addition to the following completed registration forms and registration a fee.

      Admission forms

  • How will you make sure my mildly ill child doesn’t contract a different illness from another child present?

    • Children are isolated in a separate area of LeafSpring School that is broken out by symptom. So a child who has a cough will not be in the same room as a child with gastrointestinal issues.

  • How will you care for my special needs child enrolled at LeafSpring School?

    • Depending on the child’s medical and nursing needs, chronically ill children may be admitted to the Get Well Place, or may be supervised by a nurse from the Get Well Place while participating in the regular activities at LeafSpring School.

  • Who will care for my child?

    • A licensed nurse is on duty at all times and trained to provide the same care your child would have if they were in the classroom. We engage additional staff as needed to achieve low staff/child ratios allowing us to provide your child with the excellent care they deserve:

      • Infants/Toddlers: 1:3
      • Preschool/School-Age: 1:6
  • What will this cost, and who do I pay?

    • Registration fees are to be paid to the Get Well Place you choose to send your child.

At most locations, full and part day rates (5 hours or less) are available for mildly ill backup care

Care for children who require additional skilled nursing services are charged on an individual basis based on the extent of care required. The actual cost will be determined before admission. These charges are in addition to the standard tuition and fees for LeafSpring School or the Get Well Place.

  • Are other ancillary services available for my child?

    • Additional services, such as occupational, physical, and speech therapy, are available on a contract basis with your child’s physician’s order. Please contact your Director or Get Well Place nurse to learn more.

  • What are your guidelines for care, and what if my child’s doctor suggests something different?

    • Our Medical Advisory Board has developed standing orders for fever management and dietary management of vomiting/diarrhea. Each family is encouraged to file additional standing parent orders, if desired. We welcome the opportunity to discuss these orders with you, so you can discuss with your doctor.
