Vance became the Chief Executive Officer of LeafSpring School and PRISM, LLC in June,\ 2015. “This transition marks an important milestone for the company. We are thrilled to continue the development of our industry leading programs and curriculum while further enhancing our growth potential and brand expansion,” announced Gail Johnson, Founder and Chairman of the Board.
Vance is an experienced retail, real estate, financial, and multi-unit franchising professional with demonstrated leadership in building fast growth and dynamic businesses. Well-versed in multiple operational and financial disciplines, these skills enable him to achieve the highest priority strategic initiatives for the company.
Louie began her career at LeafSpring Schools’ flagship location, Three Chopt, on June 21, 1999. She began as an Assistant Teacher and was swiftly promoted to Assistant Director of the Nursery School within two months. This new leadership position included Lead Teacher responsibilities and allowed her to truly learn the ins and outs of LeafSpring during her 6 year tenure. In 2005, she was promoted to Preschool Director and in 2013 she moved to the corporate office and executive team as the Director of Quality Assurance. In addition to her duties, she is a trainer for faculty and staff orientation and leads workshops on leadership and staff development.804-747-0100Email
Lyndsay returned to LeafSpring Schools in August 2018 as the Director of Training and Staff Development. She previously was a Preschool Director and Site Director within the LeafSpring School system. She has her degree in Early Childhood Development from St. Andrews College, and has used that degree to work in early childhood settings throughout her career. She has been a teacher, an Assistant Director, a Director, a trainer, and a program coordinator.
Lyndsay has two children who have gone through the entire LeafSpring Schools system and resides in the Richmond, VA region.Email
Lauren returned to LeafSpring School in April 2022 as the Director of Curriculum. She originally worked for LeafSpring School at Three Chopt as an Assistant Teacher and Lead Teacher from 2001 to 2008. In this role she worked with a wide range of age groups in the Preschool from toddlers to Pre-Kindergarten, as well as school aged children in the Village.
Lauren has a B.S. in Elementary and Secondary Education with a concentration in math and science and was a mathematics teacher for the public schools for 12 years. She has a M.I.S. focusing on instructional leadership in mathematics, coaching educators and research and development of curriculum. Lauren is passionate about developing curriculum that is cutting edge and research based, providing scaffolding to meet each child where they are, and incorporating STEM. Her focus is on the whole child developmentally and emotionally, and her goal is that our LeafSpring School curriculum creates lifelong learners with a skillset they can carry with them through life.
Lauren has two children who are enrolled in the preschool program with LeafSpring School.
Denise Shafer joined the LeafSpring team in December 2023, bringing more than 20 years of marketing, branding and public relations experience to the corporate office. Her background includes more than 12 years in the media business at 2 television stations and as the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Richmond Times-Dispatch & Richmond.com; Community Relations Manager for NASCAR/Richmond Raceway; 15 years as a Marketing Consultant and various roles as Director of Marketing & Communications. Denise’s oldest child and nephew were both students at LeafSpring Schools (previously Rainbow Station), so she knows the company inside and out. Her goal is to share the incredible LeafSpring difference with families across the country.
Gail was a pediatric nurse at the Medical College of Virginia when she observed the lack of services for children and working parents and developed the concept of a place where children with usual childhood illnesses, and/or chronic medical conditions, could go when their parents had to go work.
